About Us

Canvasback Realty Group was founded by me, Jerry Stephenson, Jr. I am a native of North Carolina born in Jacksonville and raised in Topsail Beach. I graduated from East Carolina University in 1994 with a graduate degree in clinical psychology and Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and Political Science. After spending a few years in the field working with children in underserved areas, I decided to return to construction – the field I spent many a college and high school summer working in – and I earned my general contractor’s license.

For the next six years, I built dozens of restaurants and commercial buildings up and down the East Coast.

When marriage and hockey (yes, I still play in our adult hockey leagues) meant a relocation to Raleigh, I earned my real estate broker’s license and went to work for a major full-service real estate company here in the Triangle. After more than five years, 10 million in sales and countless transactions, I decided to form my own company and Canvasback Realty Group was born.

My passion is my family, my hobbies and working hard. I want to help you find the perfect home or sell your home to the perfect buyer. Most of all I want to earn your trust with honesty, integrity and hard work.
